Stormy weather at the south gare

More stormy stuff.

Lots of spray.

Going back to get the High tide, this is three hours down so should be great then.

The moorings at Paddys Hole, this is a safe haven for lots of small fishing craft. Situated on the south side of the Tees estuary. This is a favourite place of mine and many others not only for the shipping and boats but also for bird watching many migratory birds can be found in this area. Although not popular with the local anglers lots of seals can be spotted in and around the Tess estuary a bit of a wildlife haven really.

The Tees Pilot jetty this where you can see the pilot boat a much needed attribute to the safe working of the Tees. Many large vessels each day use this port transporting ore oil and chemicals for the abundance of industries on Teeside. This is the main artery into the north east in general.

Just one of the many large vwessels to use the Tees, showing the Ferry Norstream coming into port. A lone angler stans and watches as this huge vessel passe the South Gare Lighthouse

Looking west across the Tees toward the setting sun.

Looking across Bran sands towards the unloading wharfe and the massive unloaders used to unload iron ore from the ore boats.
|
Again looking toward the unloadersthe net in the foreground is used on fishinf vessels to warn other vessels that they are activley engagaged in fishing.

This is what is left of the old powder wharfe, once used to unload gun powder in days gone by, hence it`s name and secluded position in Teesmouth.

A shot across the river with a moody skyline.

The sunsets on the river are really spectacular, I would recomend anyone to make the effort and pay a visit.
