My Manipulations

Hello you have seen some of my images on the previous pages, I would just like to add another string to my bow. it has always been a passion of mine to digitaly manipulate images ,weather this is just to improve the brightness or saturation, or a full blown repair job I just enjoy doing this sort of thing, coupled with my love of photography it would seem to me to be a marriage born in heaven. I must say I love to do these sorts of things. It sure beats the hell out of hanging doors for a living and crawling on my hands and knees fitting floors and skirtings. Never mind my problems lets get down to the job in hand and show you some of the things that I can do with battered and tattered images.

Tommy and Maud

Eyup Charlie this ones for you , your mam and dad dont know if the year is right, or the location of this image.

Mikey Now the Mod with a dash of colour

Black and white image of James His first school Photo dont know why it was never taken in colour
so I was asked by his mum if I could colour it this is the result.

6 scans

oLOld Boro Team

This was given to me to repair but the image was so large I had to remove the scanner top and scan the image
in six different sections. These were then reassembled using Photoshop a new border and team name were applied
as were the team members names. After removing the blemishes I ended up with image above.

This is one given to me to repair by a friend it is of his mother I think.

Another from the same source of glass plates which I have again added a little colour.

This was originally a glass plate negative all I have done here is colour it a little

The image above was given to me by a friend in the state you see above I thought it would look nice in colour, so after some minor repair work and some added colour I managed to make a passable colour image from a B&W picture.

The coulple from this image were cut fom the background and coloured they were then placed in another background in this case the smallest church in England at Upleatham North Yorkshire.

This image was the last image of her father a lady had to remember him by, stuck in her purse for many years and neglected, she thought that there was no chance that it could be repaired. This required an extensive rebuild and came to me in four seperate pieces. the colour was then added, before anyone mentions the uniform colour, this was I was assured by the lady the colour that the clothing was.

Another neglected photograph in need of restoration, this is my mother in law when she was only a girl she is in her seventies now so this is an old image I did not really need to colour it but I just got carried away.

An image given to me still with glass stuck on the photograph.

After soaking in soapy water for a day I finally managed to remove the glass

which as you can see still claimed some of the original image.

The rollover is the result of a few hours of work in PS.

The rollover suggests that the finished image is not the same proportions as the original

but inactual fact this is not the case the repaired image is correct. when printed.

Billy In his heyday as it was given to me for

restoration, after remedial work I decided to use some selective colour.

This is the end result.

An image given to me by my sons pal

for repair
