Summer 2006.

The summer of 2006 brought Hollywood to our small Town, the west end of the promanade was converted into a mock up of Dunkirk for the film of the book, Attonement. Bombed out building were recreated even an old Thames barge was was grounded on the beach , all sorts of militaria of the time was scattered all over the beach. The Coatham Hotel now flats, was changed into a rather grand Hotel once again. Many local people were used as extras in the film. Here ar are few photographs of the scene.
